Double rider machines are Polaris Rangers with automatic transmissions. Rates for Double Rider Machines are a flat rate, whether there is a passenger or not. Single rider machines are Honda 250's with automatic transmissions. All tour packages include safety and riding instruction, training course, helmet and goggles.

Arrangements for backcountry tours can be made through Steamboat Ski Touring Center. The most popular area for backcountry skiing around Steamboat Springs is Rabbit Ears Pass, southeast of town. A popular backcountry spot is Seedhouse Road, about 25 mi north of Steamboat near the town of Clark. A marked network of trails across the rolling hills has good views of distant peaks.
There is a perfect balance between invigorating exercise and relaxing tranquility when you are out in the backcountry on skis. Whether you are a novice or an accomplished powder hound, you will find your personal paradise somewhere on the thousands of acres of National Forest that surround us. You can ski on a frozen lake, across an open meadow, through the aspens or pine groves, at the bottom of a ravine with dramatic rock outcroppings, or up a mountainside, then down the other side. Vista Verde offers a variety of mountain biking opportunities. We have some awesome biking trails and trips lead by our energetic guides. For those of whom this may by a new adventure, we access some wonderful four-wheel drive roads in the National Forest. These roads are terrific for learning the basic skills of this kind of biking. For the novice, we have some great single track that is non-technical, cross country riding and mostly DOWNHILL. Honest! For those who are experienced, we have a number of trails that will challenge and satisfy your quest for more and better.
Dog Sledding in Steamboat Springs is a wonderful and rare family adventure. Something unique and exciting to add to your Steamboat vacation. A professional dog musher will teach you how to drive your own team or simply ride as a passenger and take in the panorama of mountains and endless snow that surrounds you. One of the more action-packed adventures is a daylong river-rafting trip. The Eagle River and the Colorado River, both provide wonderful trips, suited to families with youngsters. The outfitters provide duckies (inflatable kayaks) for those seeking a little more adventure and independence on the trip. The rivers are both about a two-hour drive from the ranch. Transportation is provided and you can bring your pillow to sleep on the drive or just enjoy the fabulous scenery. The rafting is included in your package and is fully guided.
