Arrangements for backcountry tours can be made through Steamboat Ski Touring Center. The most popular area for backcountry skiing around Steamboat Springs is Rabbit Ears Pass, southeast of town. A popular backcountry spot is Seedhouse Road, about 25 mi north of Steamboat near the town of Clark. A marked network of trails across the rolling hills has good views of distant peaks.

Wild West Balloon Adventures and Pegasus Balloon Tours are two combined companies owned and operated by Ian Cox. Our launch site is located behind the Steamboat Christian Center at Steamboat. Flights take place in the mornings only, winter and summer seasons, weather permitting. We are now offering only one type of flight which lasts approximately 45 minutes in the air with group, senior and child discounts. Yampatika's weekly snowshoe tours and programs offer opportunities to get out and really experience winter. We recommend waterproof, insulated boots for snowshoe tours. Weather can change dramatically and quickly in our region. Be prepared for sun or snow! Snowshoes can be rented from Yampatika for $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
