Vista Verde offers a variety of mountain biking opportunities. We have some awesome biking trails and trips lead by our energetic guides. For those of whom this may by a new adventure, we access some wonderful four-wheel drive roads in the National Forest. These roads are terrific for learning the basic skills of this kind of biking. For the novice, we have some great single track that is non-technical, cross country riding and mostly DOWNHILL. Honest! For those who are experienced, we have a number of trails that will challenge and satisfy your quest for more and better.
Strings Music Festival is a summer music festival. The Festival also holds a winter and holiday concert series. Strings Park is located just off Mt. Werner road. Strings, a nationally recognized music festival, presents over 70 performances of chamber music, jazz, rock, country, bluegrass, world rhythms, and many other genres every summer since 1988. Artists include Grammy winners and nominees, major competition winners and principal players from the most renowned orchestras.
Yampatika is a not-for profit organization whose mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through education. We fulfill our mission in by implementing hands-on inquiry-based educational programs; advocating conservation and the sound use of natural lands and cultural resources; and strengthening connections to natural and cultural environments through place-based education. Each year, our small, but dedicated, staff and committed volunteers deliver environmental education programs to nearly 20,000 residents and visitors. In 1996 and again in 2002, we received the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education, "Educators for Excellence" award, and in 1998, we were honored with the "Partners in Action" award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service (USFS) for wilderness education. In 2008, we were nominated as a New Pioneer, an award given by the Community Alliance of the Yampa Valley.
Flyfishing is our focus, and you will feel welcome and comfortable when you stop by. For beginners to flyfishing, we offer premium entry level equipments offered at reasonable prices. We have got everything, you need to get started and hit the river right away. For experienced fishermen we offer technical know-how as well as North-western Colorado's most comprehensive selection of fly tying equipment and materials.

Experience Rock Climbing in Steamboat Springs. Professional climbing guides offer tours for beginner, intermediate, and advanced climbers. Tours are catered to the individual group and instructors are always friendly and accomodating. The height of the climbs may range from 25 to 60 feet for beginner and intermediate tours and up to 450 feet on the multi-pitch climbing areas for advanced tours. Guests can be lowered down at any time and do not have to climb to the top. Harness, helmet, climbing shoes and backpacks are provided.
The joy of snowshoeing is getting out and soaking up the backcountry without having to worry about technique or form. With some simple pointers about going up and down hills, off you go. If you would like, a guide can take you on a tour up to Hinman Lake, the Cliffs or somewhere even further away from the ranch.
